Project duration July 2012 - May 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

Orchestration as process management model has been introduced in the innovation strategy pilot area of smart sustainable cities. Growth through increased collaborative action in the BSR is near through joint projects and applications. We have established a basis for collaboration on Horizon2020. Work on international markets has started but needs to be developed and get more business connections. The learning experience has been successful, but is still limited to a small circle of actors.

Results and expected effects

Regionally we have created a clearer common strategy and position in smart sustainable cities, and an organizational model for orchestration that has begun working and having impact in project and collaboration structures. BSR collaboration with Finland has gone well, collaboration in String is still in early phase. EU actions has focused on analysis of future programs and taking position in important forums, with good outcome. Partner inquiries increases, and applications are being prepared.

Approach and implementation

The work has been followed by a reference group with representatives from Sweden and Finland, with follow-up research with a coaching role. The approach of learning by doing has worked well, but there is clear need to enhance the capability to collaborate in the system, that obstacles remain, and that internationalization and corporate commitments need to be developed further. Boarder walking expertise in both Skåne and Finland has been a key factor in the successful outcome
