Funding from Vinnova SEK 250 000
Project duration December 2015 - February 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The aim was to investigate the feasibility of introducing our screening method for dyslexia in the US market. Through this project we have gained a good understanding of the American school system, the customer needs and requirements. The objective is achieved, which means that we have a good understanding of what is required in the next step in the preparation to entre the US market.

Expected results and effects

In addition to examining how the American school system works, the project also included to verify the need and how the competition looks like. The assessment is that we have very good chances of being successful in the US market, the need and the potential is great. To be successful, it requires that we validate the method locally. This was no news to us why there were already in the plan. However, what was important was to get it confirmed by independent parties that there is a market for our solution, and that we are right in time.

Planned approach and implementation

One success factor in this project was that we hired local experts to make this investigation. Without their network and knowledge, we would never had managed to achieve the result we did. It is simply not possible to do this type of analysis from Sweden. We had a close contact with the team, mainly via Skype. We have also received regular written reports that we have been able to share internally. We also had a relatively large network in the United States before this project and it has been very useful.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
