Open publishing tool for describing data sets with DCAT-AP

Purpose and goal
The project focused on the development of the Open Source tool ´DCAT-AP manager´ to create and publish descriptions of datasets according to DCAT-AP. The tool is now freely available for any organization to use.
Results and expected effects
The DCAT-publishing tool has the potential to help many organizations to create high quality DCAT-AP metadata, thus increasing the number of data sets findable via öppnadata.se and other data portals. The created metadata is fully compliant with DCAT-AP.
Approach and implementation
Within the project the tool ´DCAT-AP manager´ has been developed in several iterations along descriptions of the following data sources: offentligkonst.se (Wikimedia Sweden), Linked Nobel Prizes (Nobel Media AB), Open Data from Umeå municipality and Open Data from the city of Helsingborg. The project managed to get an additional 8 organisations to start using the tool. All source code has been made available under an open source license and can be accessed and contributed to on GitHub.
