Purpose and goal

Open data Värmland aimed to increase the understanding and competence about why Open data is important to work with within the organisations and what added value it can result in. The project had three objectives. The first objective was to arrange three breakfast seminars about open data within the thematic areas of: basic knowledge, innovation and security. The second objective was to increase the competence about open data to 100 persons. The last objective was to prior the work with open data in five organisations.

Expected results and effects

The results from the project is connected with the objectives: - Three seminars about open data have been accomplished - The project has increased the competence about open data and its value to more than 100 persons - The project has resulted in an increased acceptability to work with open data within the own organisation -The project has resulted to an increased demand to take part in the established regional network Open data Värmland - The project has contributed to prior the continued work within the network Open data Värmland

Planned approach and implementation

Before the project started all participating organisations had the same opinion - that it is hard to communicate what open data is and what the added value is? By arranging three breakfast seminars, with different thematic focus, it has helped to spread the message to people within the organisations that otherwise has been hard to reach. This in turn has led to that the work with open data has been prioritized in several organisations.
