Purpose and goal

In the project, representatives from the Nordic countries will work to harmonise open data and APIs from public transport. The purpose of work is 1) to co-operate on new regulation at the European level, 2) an ambition to stimulate the emergence of new types of smart mobility services (eg MaaS). Based on a common position paper, the countries should coordinate around 1) datasets and services 2) licenses and terms 3) standards and formats 4) EU Regulation 2017/1926 5) open source and 6) developer experience and outreach

Expected results and effects

The expected effects of this project are three. 1.In the Nordic region as a market becomes more attractive to service developers, as harmonized data deliveries reduces the complexity to launch services throughout the Nordic region. 2. To level the knowledge about open data and related technologies/practices between the different countries´ public transport actors 3. To streamline implementation and increase the impact of future EU regulations

Planned approach and implementation

The project will be conducted through four work packages: 1) Coordination/project management 2) Implementation Nordic Goal image 3) Innovation contest and 4) Communication. The project will use most of the resources within AP2, where harmonization activities based on joint position paper are prioritized, designed and implemented. Also, an innovation competition with the Nordic focus in AP3 will be conducted as well as performing various communication activities such as conference prescriptions, own website and knowledge dissemination in relevant forums.
