Status | Completed |
Important results from the project
The purpose was to expand the Tilda project to include a functionality that supports and reinforces open data and communication with other similar data/metadata publishing systems. The goal was to strengthen the Tilda system with additional functionality by implementing the EU-standard systemet DCAT-AP.
Expected long term effects
As of Dec 1, 2016, when the Tilda system was deployed, the purpose and goal have both been met. Metadata associated with data published in Tilda are made public in the oppnadata.se portal maintained and developed by the Swedish National Archives. The mapping of SLU´s metadata profile with the standard profile for DCAT-AP enables the researchers at SLU to contribute to the vision of oppnadata.se about open data easily and effortlessly, by publishing their research data in Tilda .
Approach and implementation
To start with, the efforts envolved in implementing DCAT-AP in the Tilda system were identified and analysed. Following this, a thorough mapping between the DCAT-AP profile and SLU´s own metadata profile was carried out. Dopster´s Andreas Krohn was contracted to assist the project in this step to great success. Finally, the mapping was implemented in the Tilda system and tested by the developers and user representatives in the oppnadata.se sandbox.
