Important results from the project
A prestudy has laid a foundation for innovative development of method support, IT tools and education with a norm-critical perspective for development and maintenance of e-services within the care sector. The work has included an attempt to describe and clarify challenges and opportunities concerning availability, norm criticism and equal opportunity care services. Based on user interviews and an analysis of interesting use cases, we have also formed a proposal for a full-scale project.
Expected long term effects
Experience and research shows that user involvement and attention to norms in the society is essential for usefulness and quality of e-services to be developed. In order to be able to observe everyday users´ needs and abilities in connection with service design, a work methodology with a norm-critical perspective is required. Based on new and existing knowledge, method support and IT tools we hope to contribute improved availability and care services realizing equal opportunities.
Approach and implementation
In cooperation with Stockholm County Council and an eHealth education project at The National Board of Health and Welfare we have studied previous work in the area, carried out user interviews, made a preliminary user target group segmentation and investigated candidate citizen services (umo.se, 1177.se och 1177 vårdguiden ) as potential use cases. We have also produced a work plan for a continued research and innovation project.
