Purpose and goal

The aim with the project was to establish a model for a joint national public procurement for positioning and immobilization systems in radiotherapy. The model/framework should include legal conditions when several hospitals co-operate. A multi-disciplinary project group shall be established with an intention to lead the future work with innovative public procurement.

Expected results and effects

The project describes a model for joint national public procurement for several communities. Success factors for a successful procurement is a well-established organization with internal perquisites, market- and needs´ analysis and a description of competences. With a joint innovative public procurement, a faster and more precise implementation of innovations, new techniques or processes will be possible. It will lead to a high-quality radiotherapy with increased patient benefits.

Planned approach and implementation

The realization is divided into four steps: 1) Steering committee, work- and reference groups with competence of the area are established. 2) Preform current situation analysis, needs´ analysis, market analysis and risk analyses are completed. Request for information (RFI), hearings for companies, legal perquisites and a model of public procurement. 3) A model for public procurement for example Innovative procurement is decided. 4) The model is transferred to the clinics involved.
