Purpose and goal

At Karolinska Institute (KI) we are studying obesity in families with young children. What we lack is a deeper understanding of the impact of culture on lifestyle habits, which is of upmost importance at a time when the immigrant population with children in Sweden continues to increase. The objective of this planning grant is to establish collaboration between the project leader, Dr. Paulina Nowicka from the childhood obesity research team at KI, and the Unit for Biocultural Variation and Obesity at the University of Oxford in UK.
