Important results from the project
The purpose of the project has been to develop a design process that makes it possible to use the Sandwich material Hybrix in industrial applications such as transport/construction segments. The weight saving should take place without having to compromise on the stability, strength, and performance of the material. To achieve this, a new composition of Hybrix core with significantly thicker and exceptional rigidity is designed. New experimental & computational methods are established to determine the performance of the product in the design stage prior to series production.
Expected long term effects
The project results are summarized below for the lightweight sandwich material Hybrix 1. Enhancement & optimization of the material´s performance for the transport/construction sectors and those requirements belonging to it 2. Development of new numerical methods for mapping mechanical properties of the advanced core in the micro-level. 3. Develop new & cost-effective experimental methods for predicting crack growth and fatigue properties. 4. Apply efficient CAE tools to determine product performance at the macro-level Finally, promoted bilateral innovation cooperation.
