Important results from the project
The purpose of the planning study was to investigate the basis for the main study. The focus was on collaboration models, mobility and attitudes. Through questionnaires and interviews with departments that were previously known to have well-established partnerships with the community, we were able to identify models, issues and problems regarding collaboration. This was used to understand the needs and to form the aims and objectives for the main study.
Expected long term effects
The planning study identified a number of categories of collaboration but also issues and problems. It also clarified other needs: increased focus on collaboration and innovation in humanities and social sciences, a central system for registration and monitoring of collaboration activities and a greater understanding and knowledge of collaboration. Through collaboration with ´Humsamverkan´ and ´Innovationskraft Stockholm´, synergies will occur and other universities will be involved.
Approach and implementation
With the support of a previous inventory of the University´s collaboration activities, a qualitative data collection through questionnaires and oral interviews of selected institutions was made. This, to get a better picture of the different categories of collaborations and the problems and success factors experienced. The result of this was used to identify the needs and collaboration models that need to be high-lighted.
