Purpose and goal

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The aim of the project was to develop courses for lifelong learning in materials and circular economy. The end result was 5 fully digitized introductory courses and 5 project courses as a supplement with a focus on in-depth study of the subject. The target group for the courses are professionals without specific prior knowledge, at the same time as the courses deal with the current research front in materials and circular economy. The courses are thus designed to be relevant both for specialists in need of updating and for lay people.

Expected results and effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The purpose of the courses has been 1) to be able to contribute to an increase in skills in materials and circular economy for the public and 2) to establish common prior knowledge for participants at the advanced level. Instead of developing 5 courses of 3 credits each, the approach with 1 + 2 credits was chosen to make it more accessible for professionals. The courses had about 100 registered participants. In addition, 150 KTH students have used selected parts in one of their courses. The training package will be gradually expanded with new content.

Planned approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project has been a collaboration between four different departments at KTH (Materials Science, Industrial Economics, Polymeric Materials and Digital Learning) and a number of external actors. In total, over 50 video lectures have been recorded and made available to the public on kthplay.se. The project has also contributed with competence increases in digital pedagogy and examination as well as interdisciplinary subject competence in materials and circular economy. The latter has also contributed to new research applications from the group.
