Purpose and goal
The goal of the project was to coordinate activities related to business development at Biorefinery Demo Plant which aims to catalyze the transition to a sustainable society. Goals for the production and dissemination of information materials was achieved, as well as targets for contacts with new and previously identified actors. Development of the business model for new applications and parallel projects have been implemented, opportunities for cost reduction through a more flexible operating organization evaluated and coordination of applications within calls have been made.
Results and expected effects
Scale-up of new biorefinery processes is a necessary step for a transition to a sustainable society and Biorefinery Demo Plant is therefore an important tool. In order to improve the opportunities for long-term stable business a process for organized stakeholder collaboration has been initiated, a review of the opportunities for cost reduction through a flexible organization initiated, the opportunities for parallel demonstrations were reviewed, and marketing materials have been produced and used for information dissemination and in customer discussions.
Approach and implementation
The project has been carried out by a management group at SP and by coordination with SEKAB as subcontractor of operation. Production of information leaflet and film was made in collaboration with communicators. Information dissemination has been accomplished through customer contacts, but also by participating in conferences to increase the customer base. Stakeholder discussions have been continuously ongoing for initiating and performing demo projects, investigate the conditions for more flexible organization and initiate organized stakeholder collaboration.
