Purpose and goal

The project´s aim was to counter segregation in society through new ways of multi-sectoral collaboration and generate increased support to schools and local communities. The objectives were: 1. A new model of multi-sectoral collaboration. 2. New ways of working at the school. 3. New working methods in the community. The project has achieved its goals within the project period. The collaboration model is established. The lab has generated prototypes that are now in the implementation phase: a new role at the school and a new way of designing the school´s compensatory assignment.

Expected results and effects

The goals of the project were achieved. Moreover, increased participation in local activities and improved working environment for teachers / pupils is noticeable. Increased opportunities for pupils in Study Time and indications of positive development regarding knowledge results. Through the collaborative model, increased knowledge of multisectoral collaboration has been produced. Several meeting places and associations have been woven together in a mobilization for the community which is expected to bring positive social change and more social innovation to the area.

Planned approach and implementation

Projectorganisation consisted of one projectgroup with three operational projectmanagers and a strategic projectmanager who reported to a steering group. Several innovation labs have been carried out with a high level of participation. The lab has shown the benefits of multi-sectoral collaboration, and developed models for sustainable collaboration that can prepare for complex societal challenges that cannot be solved solely by the public sector. An identified challenge is creating both economic as well as social sustainability in a way that continues to engage the community.
