Purpose and goal

The project has focused the needs of leadership, organization and innovative thinking that exists within primary production throughout the value chain from the farm to the final consumer. In the project part A, ideas have been developed in a team with competence from all parts of the value chain. Three thematic parts corresponding to this have beed identified (i) analysis of the value chain, with identification of barriers and drivers of innovation, (ii) identify/ develop/test innovative tools and (iii) contribute to the development of an innovative arena for the agricultural sector.

Results and expected effects

The expected results in the project are, through the team with competence from different parts of the value chain, create conditions to develop and change agricultural enterprises, leading to new ways of working and new business models. In the project part A, the ideas have evolved based on analyses of cases with innovative processes. We have developed a team with both the skills and the abilities to realize the ideas of the project in practice. We have also managed to develop ideas that are both sustainable from a practical, societal and scientific perspective.

Approach and implementation

The project part A has included participants from Halmstad University, Halland Agricultural Society, SLU, Swerea and Imallin AB. Contact has been made with Krinova and TransforMAT in Kristianstad to develop and incorporate expertise on working with business development and incubators in the agricultural sector. Meetings were conducted with LRF and the Foundation for Agricultural Research in Stockholm to reconcile the ideas of the project. Contacts have been made with actors in the value chain. The implementation has been characterized by discussions of ideas and analyzes of case.
