Laser technology platform for material structure analysis

Reference number
Coordinator GASPOROX AB (PUBL) - GasPorOx AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 996 620
Project duration April 2019 - June 2020
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project has been successfully implemented with the aim of developing a measurement method for contact-free measuring the optical porosity of pharmaceutical drug substrates. During the course of the project, such a system has been developed that meets the requirements from companies in the pharmaceutical industry. The project has generated a foundation, both technically and market-wise, to further develop the results towards a completely new business area for Gasporox.

Expected results and effects

The outcome of the project is that a strategy has been devised to further develop the system into an industrially competitive product. Gasporox will invest in personnel and resources to build activities around the technology that has been patented during the project. In the future, Gasporox will be able to offer the market both at-line and in-line systems that improve drug manufacturing processes. The expected effects for the company are increased growth with a unique and efficient technology that can also be applied to other segments in material analysis.

Planned approach and implementation

The project´s planning involved defined work packages to ensure the implementation of both the technical development and market analysis of the technology. Throughout the project, the focus has been to meet the demands of potential future customers through a continuous dialogue with them. Risks were minimized early by verifying performance with commercial hardware and optimizing software. The project has entailed more internal efforts than planned, but it has also generated a greater knowledge of the market and the insight into the potential of the technology.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
