Funding from Vinnova SEK 12 064 023
Project duration June 2013 - May 2014
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the grant is to provide small and medium sized companies the opportunity to develop a strategy for managing the company´s intangible assets, or to develop their existing strategy. The goal is that the company after completion of the project shall have a strategy that clearly shows how they continue to manage their intellectual property in a way that enhances their business plan, which is anchored in the organization, and as such becomes an aid in the further work.

Results and expected effects

The result was that 119 SMEs, togeheter with IP-expertise, developed plans for the management of their intellectual property. This has been perceived as very positive by the companies and Almi innovation councellor and business developer at the incubators. PRV and VINNOVA´s description of how the check is to be used, in some cases have been perceived as a bit too detailed and inflexible. In most cases the full check amount of 100 thousand was utilized, but in some cases the full check amount was not necessary.

Approach and implementation

The description of how the checks shall be used, has sometimes been perceived as a bit too detailed and inflexible. Almi Innovation and Alm Incubation has worked with some different processes, see previous reports, and both processes have worked well on the whole. The time window to grant checks was a bit too short in the pilot. The time to procure and implement the work, which was funded the check, was also a bit too short.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
