Purpose and goal

The purpose of the project was to investigate the prerequisites and optimal specs of an innovate service for product based image searches targeted towards the e-commerce market and also to build a first version. The aim was to, through research and experiment, conduct product development and increase chance of securing external financing for further project work. The project has been successful and the aim has been reached. The finished project has resulted in a service ready for the market and with paying customers. The company is in a good position to secure further funding.

Expected results and effects

The outcome of the project is a service ready for the market that has been sold and proven by real paying customers. The service has also been tested under large scale circumstances. The company is in good position to expand its operations with this foundation. The iterative product development work within the project, which has led the strategic decisions, has opened up an interesting opportunity to use the company´s technology both in the B2B and B2C market.

Planned approach and implementation

The original structure and plan for the project has been followed to a high degree. Some deviations have occurred when deemed appropriate for the project in order to validate assumptions and hypothesis at the right time and with the right conditions. In the same way, some of the project resources have been reallocated when justified to reach the project milestones in the work packages and when it has been beneficial for the costs related.
