Innovation Week Brazil

Purpose and goal

The goal of "Brazil-Sweden collaboration (Bioeconomy)" is to establish collaboration between researchers and actors from Sweden and Brazil by presenting the expertise of the SLU´s research scientists in forest research. At the meeting, we will address the questions the forest industry places in Sweden. We will present the knowledge gap and discuss the need for cooperation between all participating researchers for a favorable development of forestry in both countries.

Expected effects and result

Our hope is that we could identify the partners that can be part of a coalition with us at SLU and initiate cooperation in forest research with the participating researchers directly. An inventory of research needs will be done and a competence group in the area will be established for more efficient research with maximum exchange. We expect to be able to identify contact points within our research areas and initiate research applications together directly after the meeting.

Planned approach and implementation

After a brief presentation of our field of expertise, we will have presentations about our current / previous research results. In addition, we will discuss the research needs of the Swedish forest industry and how could we apply our research in the forest industry together with the participating partners.
