Project duration April 2015 - June 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose of the seminar was to create a dialogue platform based on action space, courage and practice in order to strengthen innovation in public services, and to create a basis for further work on the issues raised during the seminar. Three areas were identified : the courage do be wrong, the necessity of diverse perspectives and the shared social contract. These could provide a basis for further work to identify practical prerequisites and tools to strengthening the innovation capability.

Results and expected effects

The outcome of the seminar was, as mentioned above, three key areas that they considered central to strengthening innovation in public sector: the courage do wrong, the necessity of diverse perspectives and the shared social contract. In particular the last area can be said to be a direct result of the composition of the key persons in the seminar since it emerged as the lowest common denominator . To strengthen awareness of the shared social contract in relation to the mandate you have is a very interesting result of the seminar.

Approach and implementation

The seminar was conducted during the National Conference Offentliga Rummet in Visby and four different key participants were identified and were given a framework to reflect upon (the project manager acted as moderator). The seminar was crowded and could have been assigned an even bigger venue. An analysis of the seminar is that ´the shared social contract´ is a very interesting area that came out of the composition of the key participants, and it would be very interesting to continue working on that dimension in some form .
