Important results from the project
By means of complementary funding the innovation concerns the development of a fall-preventive composite pavement, composed of a rubber-modified cement-based concrete. The main task of this particular project deals with the construction of a 50 m long testpath for bikes and the documentation of its construction, as well as the planning for the validation of its properties. The project has been sucessfully completed.
Expected long term effects
The construction of a 50 m long composite test-pavement and the documentation of its construction are conducted. Planning for new means for the evaluation of the pavements unique properties are now undertaken. We expect that this new type of pavement for bicycle paths will meet the demands to decrease injuries among cyclists.
Approach and implementation
1. Planning for the construction of a testpavement for cyclists. 2. The construction of the testpath (preparations before the casting, mixing, casting och post-treatments). 3. Documentation and further planning for the evaluation of the testpath´s properties.
