Increased food business participation in public funding

Purpose and goal

The goal of encouraging food companies to seek public funding for its innovation and development needs are well met. 19 of the 34 participating companies (56%) has submitted the application to Vinnova, EIP-Agri, Länsstyrelsen, etc. and 1 additional application is in progress. An interest to submit applications were found in 30 (90%) of the participating companies. The not yet filed applications will be followed up. The project also contributes to scouting for experts from different organizations.

Expected results and effects

During the three seminars, 34 companies attended and of these, 30 companies want to seek financing. So far, the project has led to 19 applications for a total of 14.9 million (project size of 10 thousand - 6.9 million) and one further application is under development. Of the applications 4.2 million have been granted, with a success rate of 90 %. The impact of this work is believed to give ripples. Several of the companies submitted its first major application, and if you did it once, the threshold for filing subsequent application will be lower.

Planned approach and implementation

The gathering sponsors, potential fund seeking companies and the project leaders with knowledge of the required expertise to implement development projects, has been a successfully set up and enabled development and made it possible for more applications. Contacts with the companies have been taken before, during and after the seminars, so that each company has been followed up regarding needs and matching. The financiers participation have facilitated for the specific application information. The project leaders have enabled support around the application formation.
