Important results from the project
The project aims to increase the competitiveness of innovative small and medium-sized enterprises. PRV aims to increase the knowledge of the importance of managing intellectual property assets. At the project start several goals was established, such as that the innovation system should be aware of why intellectual property is an important strategic business tool, that PRV is the responsible authority in Sweden for intellectual property and to spread PRV´s expertise in intellectual property.
Expected long term effects
During the project PRV has continuously aimed to fulfill the goals. PRV can see an increased use of the web site, from less than 1.1 to more than 1.3 million visitors annually. PRV also sees a greater demand of the personnel of PRV as a lecturer at events related to innovation. The work is, however, long-term and it is difficult to clearly distinguish the effects after these three years of the project.
Approach and implementation
Three parts: 1) Raise awareness small and medium-sized enterprises. E.g.: regional representation (personal meetings with over 11 500 SMEs), entry at web site adapted to SMEs, company case stories . 2) Increase advisor competence Full day education offered repeatedly. Evaluation shows good results. Continuous contact with advisor organisations over Sweden to intercept needs and possibilities. Personal meetings with circa 1 700 advisors. 3) Financial support Developed a method for companies and advisors to work with intellectual property strategies together with consultants
