Project duration September 2012 - October 2013
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The purpose with the agenda ´Processes and Information management in Construction and property management´ has been to establish a national strategy for the development of digital model-based information management (BIM) and industrial processes. A large number of actors have been involved in the work: property owners, architects, consultants, contractors, material suppliers and public agencies. We have also worked closely with the IT and telecom industry.

Results and expected effects

The proposed activities in the agenda are divided into four innovation areas: Process and structural renewal, Business Models and Implementation, Standardizations, and Skilling. The effort will lead to major structural changes in the sector and create effects as shortened lead times, reduced costs, increased benefit for users and increased productivity. By extension, it also means an increase in residential construction, robust infrastructure, and international competitiveness.

Approach and implementation

The work with the agenda was conducted with broad participation from industry, academia and the public sector. In the first phase it was performed by a working group, with support from a steering committee and a reference group with a total of 25 organizations represented. To collect other perspectives and open up for more actors there were also held a number of documented workshops and a large referral seminar. In the second phase, the work was performed by a smaller working group. In total, over 150 people have participated in the work in some way.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
