Purpose and goal

The aim of the project have been to strengthen Gotmic´s product portfolio around 60 GHz with state-of-the-art receiver and transmitter chips in terms of performance and cost effectiveness. This goal has been achieved as Gotmic now can show products with substantially better performance than what is available on the market today.

Results and expected effects

Gotmic has within the project developed transmitter and receiver chips as well as power amplifier at 60 GHz with world leading performance. The results are very good and the results well exceeds what is available on the market today. Gotmic has a range of interested customer across several applications across the world, of which some has already started to test our prototypes with promising results. Gotmic expects to increase our revenue substantial once these new 60 GHz products reach volume production and strengthen Gotmic as a world leading supplier of millimeter wave circuits.

Approach and implementation

A thorough system design and discussions with several potential customers was done initially to determine the requirement specifications and demands from the market. The development followed Gotmic´s work methodology for new prototypes/products with design work, reviews, production of prototypes and finally measurements and characterization of the circuits. At the end of the project several prototype circuits were sold to a number of selected customers.
