Project duration October 2022 - December 2023
Status Completed
Venture Winter - for secure sharing and use of data

Purpose and goal

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The project has contributed to the Swedish strategy regarding increased utilization of health data by formulating consequences of the homomorphic encryption technology through testing and exemplification together with two regions - Region Halland and VGR. The goal of developing specific components and examples into a software library has been met. We have investigated the impact on business models with industry actors as well as legal interpretation regarding the technology to understand implementation aspects

Expected results and effects

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** Projektet HEIDA resulted in 1) a developed software library, 2) tests and knowledge sharing with Region Halland and VGR, and 3) feedback on the technology from companies in the health data area. Furthermore, 4) legal aspects of the technology were investigated, 5) knowledge sharing with another region, and dissemination of project results through two conferences and publications. The project has raised awareness of homomorphic encryption as a way to process health data while maintaining privacy protection.

Planned approach and implementation

** Denna text är maskinöversatt ** The arrangement worked well. RISE developed program code that was shared with the regions. The project parties discussed areas of use together and co-created examples based on needs. A seminar was held with MedTech4Health, and the companies´ view of the technology was followed up through a survey. The project stimulated creativity and curiosity among the regional users and met them early in the application process. Development potential exists in bringing together business, region and technology in the same application example.
