Important results from the project
The project has achieved its goal which was the development of a general system, based on computer vision, for camera and object tracking for virtual graphics in broadcast television.
Expected long term effects
The first products based on technology from the project will be launched in 2014. During the course of the project we have experienced a very clear pull from the market for these solutions, and as a result we expect the project to generate a significant increase in turnover as well as a lead on competitors whose systems are both harder to use and less flexible with respect to application areas.
Approach and implementation
During the entire project there has been a close dialogue between the development team, sales staff and experienced operators of the company´s existing broadcast graphics solutions. This has given the project a solid grounding with respect to market needs. We have focused on footage that is well aligned with customer requirements, and we have established workflows that work well in practice without placing tough demands on operators. The project has followed the work plan to a great extent.
