Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The goal of our project was to create a number of videos aimed at teaching game making to youths. To achieve this we used Unity as the primary tool. We have published approximately 20 hours of video. These covers everything from the basics of Unity to how to create a number of different games. We have created PC games as well as games for Android. This initiative will is not over for our part and we will continue to publish videos for a long time...

Expected results and effects

The videos have been popular, but we have to increase marketing of our Youtuve-channel to attract more viewers. We have also begun producing written material and have arranged several meet-ups. At the meet-ups students of all ages have participated and these meet-ups have been very popular. The meet-ups have enabled us to test our materials with the type of audience we had in mind when creating it.

Planned approach and implementation

Our method has been to first plan and create material for the meet-ups. At these we have been able to test the material on the types of youths that has been our target audience. This has enabled us to see if the material works as well as we have received questions and feedback that has enabled us to further refine our material. After the meet-ups we have written simple, basic scripts and recorded our videos in accordance with what we did at our meet-ups. After editing we have published these videos on our Youtube channel. We think that this has been a succesful and productive way to work.
