Important results from the project
The project aims to validate the commercial and technical requirements for an invention for noncontact temperature measurement developed at University West, and to create conditions for the further commercialization of the invention. Technical verification was carried out in cooperation with Norstel AB. Commercial verification was conducted together with a handful of companies within noncontact temperature measurements. The patent which described the technology forfeited before the project ended formally and no partner was identified which wished to take over the patent.
Expected long term effects
No corporation was created for commercializing the technology.
Approach and implementation
Technical verification was conducted early on in cooperation with Norstel AB. A major failure due to an electrical storm caused all MBE machines at Chalmers to be out of use for months. This prevented further verification testing. The time limitation caused by the patent severly limited the time available for conducting project activities.
