Purpose and goal

Within the AFarCloud project the Senseair contribution has been to develop accurate, small and low-cost gas sensors for monitoring of gases within the agricultural industry. This has successfully been done and stabilized sensor platforms for high resolution measurement of for instance greenhouse gases has been developed and evaluated in field. These sensor will help to understand flow of greenhouse gases.

Expected results and effects

Several new sensor platforms have been developed and knowledge regarding the applications has been built up. This means that at least two new sensors are expected to add to Senseair´s product portfolio within a few years. We have already delivered about 50 prototypes to institutes, companies and universities outside the project. In the long run, these new sensors will lead to increased sustainable growth and better control, especially of the flow of greenhouse gases.

Planned approach and implementation

The project has been run internally as a collaboration between researchers and developers at Senseair. The project´s external parties have contributed with requirement specification and valuable access to facilities for field testing. A large part of the work has been carried out by one of our industrial Ph.D. students and will generate publications after the end of the project.
