Distance treatment of horses - an innovative concept of education

Reference number
Coordinator ATLASBALANS AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 500 000
Project duration May 2016 - December 2016
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

Atlasbalans has developed a concept to enable distance education and distance treatment of horses. This has enabled a teacher to be anywhere in Sweden and offer practical education to therapists/veterinaries in Germany, the US or anywhere else in the world - all during the same day. The concept also enabled remote treatment of horses. At the moment a first version of this concept is developed, tested and ready for a 2017 launch.

Expected results and effects

The project has resulted in an expanded and updated Atlasbalans product family now including an updated treatment tool with bluetooth connection, a Atlasbalans branded tablet serving as a portable digital work station and an online user portal for education. Future global Atlasbalans customers will now receive high quality practical education and service updates directly from Sweden - through live stream and the digital plattform. This solution is key for Atlasbalans global launch in early 2017.

Planned approach and implementation

The project consisted of design, packaging, applikation development, improvement of hardware and software, development of a live stream solution and testing. When working with the project the core ideas were tested and evaluated leading to a change from one mobile application to a complete digital work station solution - the Atlasbalans Tablet. This changed the way we worked and has affected other parts of our business as well. The final solution is more adjustable for future development, coming digital challenges and for a global market.
