Purpose and goal

The cooperation between the Swedish forest agency and Southern Swedish forest research centre was valuable for both organizations. Researchers from the research centre has cooperated with forest consultants and specialists within the agency around the popular science publication ´Skador på skog´. The exchange of knowledge will be strengthened further thru the joint workshop planned for this autumn.

Expected results and effects

The consultants and specialists of the Forest Agency have, during the project, given input on the publication ´Skador på skog´ via email, telephone and in direct meetings. The publication will be published in autumn 2016 and the suggestions from the consultants and specialists have had a great influence on the content as well as on the design. Through the publication and the planned workshop the Forest Agencies consultants will get an increased knowledge of the latest scientific findings and researchers from the department will be able to bring forward the current knowledge.

Planned approach and implementation

The three stages of implementation was conducted as planned, the project was initiated by visits and e-mail contact with the consultants. During the execution the project manager was in regular contact with the consultants at the local office. Dissemination of the publication´s content will take place on 22/9 during a workshop together with the Forestry agency. During the initialization a lot of knowledge exchange occurred, many opinions and wishes of the publication emerged which led to interesting discussions.
