Purpose and goal
The project contributes to next generation´s energy management system with AI-based simulation tools and digital twins, by combining applied research in academia with pioneering development and innovation work at companies that meet the real estate industry´s future needs for energy efficiency measures, implementation of new loads, energy storage and local energy production.
Expected results and effects
The project is expected to contribute to next generation´s energy management system with new AI-based algorithms and digital twins, which is expected to lead to a more sustainable and resilient energy system. Participating parties will gain a competitive advantage by being involved and early driving the development and showcasing solutions in a world-class demonstrator environment. Swedish attractiveness in terms of research and innovation investments in the energy management area is expected to be strengthened and the competitiveness of Swedish industry to be improved.
Planned approach and implementation
The parties include a university, an energy company, a property owner and a global technology company in automation, electrification and digitalisation. The project will together collect requirements, design an innovative energy management system including new AI-based algorithms and a digital twin, implement software and other artifacts and demonstrate the solutions in a real environment at Campus Skellefteå. Expected effects and results include a more sustainable and resilient energy system as well as a world-class demonstrator environment.
