Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project´s aim was to examine the challenges and opportunities that today´s internet and media technology means for the established companies, start-ups and public sector. The new technology can strengthen existing organizations and business competitiveness, but at the same time it represents a challenge for business, organization, culture and ways of working and skills among employees. The project has produced a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities for the three groups.

Results and expected effects

The project has resulted in an agenda document that describes both challenges and possibilities for Sweden with the today´s internet and media technology. The suggestions are group in three areas - motivation (attitude proposals), tools (skills suggestions) and shape (cooperation proposal). With the agenda as a base a potential formation of an SIO consortium has been discussed. The partners in such a consortium would be organizations that normally do not work together.

Approach and implementation

The work has been carried out using both semi-structured in-depth interviews, both in groups and individual, and workshops based on the Innovation Games ´Speed boat´ method. In addition, a pair of themed workshops was conducted to deepen the analysis. Some 30 interviews have been conducted in Stockholm, Luleå and Malmö. The results have been documented in an Excel database. From the database has the answers have been structured and three ´pillars´ defined.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
