Coordinator Bambuser AB
Funding from Vinnova SEK 680 000
Project duration November 2014 - April 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

The project´Bambuser Live Reporting tool´ aimed to create new cutting-edge, mobile, tools that will allow organisations to gather new content and optimize their workflow. In February the Bambuser Iris Platform was launched - a comprehensive full service for journalistic field work. Focus has been on designing a technically high-quality service while maintaining simplicity of user interface. According to plan, we have developed an reporter app (iOS and Android), a web-based interface to manage (verifying and publishing) content.

Results and expected effects

Bambuser Iris Platform leads to significant cost, time and process efficiencies for organizations that use the service. In particular, media companies have greater opportunities to easily and cost-effectively produce video (and photos). Organisations outside the media sphere will improve and simplifying all kind of processes.

Approach and implementation

The work has almost entirely complied with the proposed roll out plan . A beta version of the Iris platform was completed just before the end of last year and the first users and trial customers (ie prospects) where signed on. During the beta period, a huge amount of feedback and requests where generated, which was useful for further development. We have put a great effort in traveling and meeting with potential customers and with hindsight we would have needed to spend more time and resources on PR and marketing. Marketing activities will be intensified in June -15.
