Purpose and goal
The broad approach of the project aimed at reaching knowledge on how to build a sustainable structure with the right components. The goals were a ´Malmö model´, get a picture of the ´gardening landscape´ in the city and a common view as well as identifying the conditions for this model. By a large empiric work and the knowledge contribution of many the goals are mainly reached. The common view on the needs and the conviction that working and thinking together lead to development and innovation is strong among most actors. A model has been shaped accepting change when needed.
Results and expected effects
The project has collected and documented a broad knowledge on the gardening situation in Malmö, letting many actors be included with their experiences. It has approached municipal as well as non-municipal actors, and mutually the non-municipal actors. Even actors outside Malmö, including partners abroad, have participated. One result is a larger presence in the regional and national network, and a start of an international network. The city has also adopted a city gardening program that implicates a group for city gardening including members from the project in the further work.
Approach and implementation
By systematically making intervieuws with the ´gardening world´: actors, cooperations, civil servants, companies, researchers, other municipalities, network etc, running critical seminars to gain sharper knowledge and making study tours together with a large range of actors, a comprising knowledge base and empiricism been reached. This founds for the model being presented, where a neutral platform/associaltion may be the nod for driving city gardening issues offensively.
