Reference number
Coordinator Umeå universitet - Universitetsledningen
Funding from Vinnova SEK 2 500 000
Project duration December 2013 - December 2015
Status Completed

Purpose and goal

One aim has been to develop and design dynamic, creative, interactive and attractive milieus. With a solid foundation in the strategies of both universities and the joint knowledge of how creative areas for cooperation can be designed and how activities can be organised have the projects primary target been to develop knowledge and practical experience of how milieus can be planned. Another aim has been to test and understand how different kind of activities can support and strengthen results from co-operation and contribute to the dynamics in the milieu.

Results and expected effects

Besides the physical design and the technical resources connected to the milieu, realisation of activities aimed at different target groups means much for the results of the interaction within a dynamic and creative milieu. It is also important to appreciate that gender issues and equal treatment does not take care of themselves. It is important to create spaces that welcome actors of all sexes and backgrounds. The physical environment could help to bring different target groups together and attract underrepresented groups by mixing different types of resources and activities.

Approach and implementation

The tools used in the project have been breakfast meetings, conferences, workshops, seminars and different forms of practical problem solving and ideation. Through cognitive mapping, different factors within four categories have been examined. For these factors, causal relations have been established for students, researchers/teachers, entrepreneurs and employees in creative businesses.

The project description has been provided by the project members themselves and the text has not been looked at by our editors.
