Communication of project results From knowledge to utility

Purpose and goal

The project has well fulfilled its´ purpose to initiate the dissemination of the pre-study results, namely factors significant for creating learning organisations, in the Built environment. To fulfil the purpose, the goal was to produce a communication material well adapted to the participating parties’ target groups. The material was set to convey the results from the pre-study report and consisted of a short film, a digital folder and a conversation material in addition to the enhanced pre-study report. The materials have been used to start the dissemination.

Expected results and effects

The result of the project is a communication material adapted to the target groups´ needs to be able to take in and apply the pre-study results in form of success factors for creating learning organizations. The material is now used for dissemination and implementation of the pre-study results. The expected effects of the project are several, including; 1) funding organizations may expand their demands regarding implementation in calls, and 2) that the actors in the Built environment increase the pace of making use of project results in wider practice.

Planned approach and implementation

Initially, the project team used weekly meetings in sprint format using a standardized agenda to identify need for information or support from others to solve the assigned task. Over time, the working method built trust between the group members and less frequent work meetings could be introduced. In order to deliver on the project aim, slightly different conditions from the steering group were needed. To get the right conditions, the results from the pre-study were used as a lens, leading to lessons learnt on how to communicate the use of the results to stimulate applying them in practice.
