Purpose and goal

The application stated the following purposes: -To develop and implement a co-production model that could be used as a good example of how different forms of co-production, at various levels of interaction, support utilization, quality assurance and quality improvement. The project has achieved its goals, but has also had the effect of additional universities joining the ambition to develop the model. There are good opportunities to achieve the long-term aim, expressed in the long term goals specified in the application, based own experiences as well as other project partners´.

Results and expected effects

The project has resulted in the following: -A study on the need for research in academia and industry. -A memorandum of understanding between the University and the Regional Council. -An opinion piece about the need for collaboration in the local press. -A revised model for collaboration. -A joint application between six universities to step 2. -Templates for project applications, evaluation of applications and contracts for a research fund. The project has increased internal and external attention for collaboration issues in general, and the proposed research fund in particular.

Approach and implementation

The work was organised in two main work packages. The first work package was conducted in collaboration with the Regional Council and industry explore the feasibility of establishing a research fund for co-production projects between regional industry and the university. The second work package was to develop the model of co-production, including a quality assessment of co-production projects. The results from both work packages have advanced the university´s ability and contacts regarding co-production issues.
