Important results from the project
Climate Leading Process Industry is Sweden’s most important cluster for the chemical and process industry’s transition. By bringing together large and small companies, public actors, and academia, the program has created a unique arena for collaboration. Over seven years, 40 projects were funded with 35 million SEK. This work has attracted 1.24 billion SEK in external funding, enabled expansions, and ten national testbeds. The program paves the way for sustainable competitiveness.
Expected long term effects
The initiative is expected to lay the foundation for a fossil-free and circular industry with strengthened competitiveness. By establishing lasting collaborations between industry, academia, and public actors, the green transition is accelerated. The innovation and investments enabled by the initiative secure a continued strong and relevant industry in Sweden. By placing sustainability at the core, a robust and resilient industry is created, ready to meet future demands.
Approach and implementation
The setup focused on need-driven collaboration and innovation, which proved to be the right path to reach the goals. The project developed according to plan and activities yielded the intended effects. Despite geopolitical challenges affecting our companies, we followed the timeline and our focus without major deviations. One unforeseen event during the phase was the shutdown of the host organisation. Cooperation and the collective innovative power performed as expected.
