Purpose and goal

We believe that Uppsala can become a hub for CleanTech companies & organisations and the competition plays a vital role in developing that reputation but also in bringing in ideas, solutions and products to the region that will enhance the local and national economy. The purpose of this stage was to establish a network of partners that can help support the CTC 2017 and future competitions. We feel that this period of time has helped with building up confidence in our capabilities and the CTC brand for future discussions and negotiations. Throughout all meetings we have had a positive response towards the CTC idea and goals behind the competition. We have promised to get financial support from Uppsala Kommun, Regionsförbundet , Världklass Uppsala and UU Innovation , and we are under discussions with SLU and SLU Holding - all interested in developing the city and region of Uppsala. We have developed `win-win´ partnership agreements that will see our partners (UIC, UPWIS, CEMUS, ALMI, UPWIS, Connect Uppsala, AVM Business etc) be actively involved in the later stages with regards to in-kind prizes. This period was an important continuation for the CleanTech Challenge competition. Holding the CTC student competition gave us the vehicle to build a brand and develop a network that can used in future competitions. The experience for the team that coordinated the CTC student competition was invaluable - lessons have been learned that can be carried forward to future competitions and this year´s competition has been useful in shaping CleanTech Challenge International competition process.
