Results and expected effects

Seven projects were started at the beginning of stage 3 (2012-2014). One of them was a one-year project (a stage 2 project that was finalized during 2012) and one project was started in year 2013. The results from these, in total eight projects, have had a profound impact on the R&D work of our industrial partners. The research in Chase has also resulted in a large number of journal articles and conference papers. Scientific papers play an important role for small high-tech companies, to improve credibility and making their new technologies acceptable in the market.

Approach and implementation

The partners in Chase represent a wide spectrum of companies, from small start-ups to large multinational companies, within Wireless, Remote Sensing and Medical Applications. The companies represent large variations in terms of applicability of the research results and of interaction with the academia. This challenge has developed into established knowledge transfer between the academy and companies. However, one has to realize that there will always be room for improvements of the transfer of results from the academia. Therefore, this will get an increased focus during stage 4.
