Important results from the project
Designing a project proposal for a project about gender wage gap in India together with the Swedish Designing a project proposal for a project about gender wage gap in India together with the Swedish host institution. The proposed project aims at identifying and analysing the determinants of gender gap in Information Technology (IT) industries in India, in particular, the determinants of unequal career outcomes and gender wage gap in these industries. Project proposal was written in collaboration between Jagriti Tanwar and Minna Salminen-Karlsson and was submitted Sept 16th, 2014.
Expected long term effects
Expected effects: Establishing a collaboration between the post doc and the host institution. Outcome: The collaboration that was established can result, not only in the submitted project proposal, but even other proposals int he future.
Approach and implementation
Jagriti Tanwar spent a week at the Centre for Gender Reserach (host institution) and had frequent discussions with Minna Salminen-Karlsson and even one of the research administrators of the university. She also met Helen Peterson from Gothenburg University, who reseraches gender issues in the Indian software sector, and severla of the employees of the Centre more informally.
