Purpose and goal
The objective of the planning project was to initiate contacts and formulate a project plan for an application to the VinnMer program. The planned project will aim at development of human artificial heart tissue to be used for testing of drugs and as models for regenerative medicine. The objective was reached, and a full VinnMer proposal was submitted.
Results and expected effects
The planned project will results in new testing methodology for pharma industry and Health care. The Vinnmer candidate is also expected to develop into an independent researcher and future research leader. The project will also result in new international collaborations for the involved organizations.
Approach and implementation
Two planning meetings were held, one in Gothenburg and one at University of Tromsö. At the latter meeting, management and researchers of the medical faculty were participating. In between the two meeting, regular contacts have been held via Telephone and email correspondence.
