Important results from the project

The project aimed at improving applications tools for creation of standards-based clinical models. The researcher/teacher at Karolinska Institutet has deepened his knowledge in the practical use of the Form Builder tool, working together with Cambio CDS (objective 1). As a result, the project led to an expanded collaboration between the two organizations (objective 2). A master thesis project on investigating low-code programming in the field of Health Information Technology development process was an additional occasion for exchanging skills and experience (objective 3).

Expected long term effects

As results of the project, the tool has by iterative cooperation between the two organizations been enhanced (WP4); the user documentation has improved in its content and its accessibility (WP5), a comparison between the tool and a similar software has been carried out as master thesis project (WPs 3, 4 and 5). As for communication (WP2), a poster has been presented at the IEEE EMBC 2023 conference. The outcomes are to apply the experience gained during the project and the results for improving educational initiatives about health informatics and for improving development processes.

Approach and implementation

Collaborative activities for implementing the project were designed and divided into work packages (WPs), and, in turn, work packages were divided into tasks, with related responsible partner. WP1 was for the management of the project and WP2 was for the communications and dissemination about projects and their activities. WPs 3, 4, and 5 were for the development of the project. The WPs were divided into tasks and by a Gantt diagram time lime for each activity was defined. In this way, it was possible to take control of the carrying out of each activity and update the timeline when needed.
