Purpose and goal

The objective has been to stimulate the development of solutions that can be implemented in H + and exported to other markets. The aim has been to change the perception of sewage and waste. If handled correctly, sewage and waste can be become a profitable resource. The challenge has been a forum for innovators, entrepreneurs, business developer and us as a organizers to meet and inspire each other to better identify and meet the challenges. It has created excellent conditions to reach the goal.

Results and expected effects

The competition was expected to generate new technologies and important incentives for users/residents in the proposed district. The marketing and luminosity, the competition has given, has helped to promote Helsingborg and H + . Local press and several professional publications have highlighted the event and its participants. The competition has also circulated on YouTube and social media such as LinkedIn, which has meant that the challenge has been highlighted in many parts of the world.

Approach and implementation

We focused on visualizing and explaining the system, so that the challenge would become accessible and the system would spread. The barrier for participation was kept low to increase the opportunity to get a diverse and large group of contestants. The contest was announced on website, in printed media and in social media. The regional innovation system with universities and clusters was involved. Two workshops were held in the format open innovation. The competition began with a kick off with 50 stakeholders.
