Purpose and goal

The project “En ny egnahemsrörelsen” has aimed to create opportunities in the housing market for the growing group that has employment and financial capability, but who, due to lack of own savings for down payment, still can not buy their own home. We have been able to identify problems and create solutions that are very valuable for the future construction of “egnahems”-apartment building and bring us closer to that by gathering the stakeholders that are required in the realization.

Expected results and effects

Development of business models and legal solutions has been central to the project. To develop methods and analyze the conditions together with intended future partners and residents has given a great understanding of the challenges we face and many solutions as well as a great commitment from those involved that we will need to realize our vision.

Planned approach and implementation

We have carried out the project through meetings and workshops with stakeholders and through analysis. We have created sales material targeting prospective partners, landowners, municipalities, banks and residents. Contacts have been initiated to reach the important parties needed in the future implementation. Discussions have begun and lead forward, but the processes takes longer than we appreciated before the project is highly dependent on election and unclear political situation. This means that we are now exploring new ways to implement our method in existing projects.
