Purpose and goal

The goal was to develop a prototype for an LMS for comprehensive schools that work for all users, regardless of their ability. As a starting point, we took the most commonly used modules and examined how these could be designed with a high level of accessibility. We partnered with schools in the municipality of Leksand. The result is a solution that has the potential to revolutionize the market by being the first to include students, teachers and parents with and without disabilities.

Expected results and effects

For students, teachers and parents with disabilities, the prototype means that they can use the school system and interact with others without having to ask for help or use special solutions that are often perceived as stigmatizing and rarely works as well as the mainstream solution. The long-term effect is that students will become more independent and improve their education which can lead to further benefits in terms of higher employment and reduced social exclusion.

Planned approach and implementation

The project ran according to schedule. The result is a clickable prototype that we tested with users with good results. Throughout the project we have had extensive contacts with end-users and stakeholders, which has been a key factor for the successful development of the prototype. We have also used the knowledge and insights we acquired in the project to move forward with additional innovation projects that further develops the result of this project.
