Purpose and goal

Viscando AB offers traffic authorities an automatic and flexible system for trafic monitoring. A system that is easier to install, maintain and offers more functionality at a lower total cost than existing solutions. The aim of this project has been to complete the development and test of the traffic monitoring system, based on 3D stereo vision. During the project we have fullfilled the project aims! The first cities to use our systems is Eskilstuna in Sweden and Drammen in Norway.

Results and expected effects

The effect of the project is that Viscando now offers the market a new state-of-the-art system for traffic monitoring. A one-in-all system that is installed beside the roadway and automatically monitors all kind of traffic, vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians. We are in a position now to market our new product broadly. We are right now looking for partners in Scandinavia and in a near term also in Europe.

Approach and implementation

Already at the starting point we have been in a tight dialogue with several customers. The aim has been to define a product yields maximum adde value to the customers everyday operations. It has been a fruitful way of working. We have in a short time-span developed a unique product for traffic monitoring that fills a gap in traffic monitoring. We can now offer one-in-all system that easily and automatically counts all kind of traffic - vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians. The need of statistics is ever increasing, especially given the new guide lines for more sustainable transports.
