Important results from the project
The project aimed at developing an English version of a management book based on research conducted at Google Inc. The purpose was to present learnings about management principles for continuous innovation in a rapidly changing world, in a way that is attractive for practitioners. These goals has been reached through the book ´The Google Model: Managing Continuous Innovation in a Rapidly Changing World´ that was published in Swedish (March 2014)by Vinnova in cooperation with IMIT and in English (April 2014) by Springer.
Expected long term effects
The book is expected to reach a national an international audience, including Swedish multinational corporations, by being published through Vinnova and a well reputed international publisher. The book is also downloadable on internet (for free) and therefore it has the potential to reach a very large audience. Springer has also chosen to make individual chapters searchable, which means that several alternative search routes were rapidly available to locate the book.
Approach and implementation
The author of the book has had the main responsibility to develop the English version with the assistance of a language consultant and support from the publisher. Content-wise the book is based on research conducted during the author´s process to obtain her PhD complemented by new literature studies and new empirical examples. The author has also developed models and text about continuous innovation and provides practical advice on how to accomplish this.
